Digital Art

Logo

Project

Project Description:

Steps I took-

1: I brainstormed ideas, and then started to look at clip art images of an AK-47

2. I had an idea of a rose that was going to be implemented into the project, but never look actions until a few days later.

3. I've made a rose without the black borders and made it pink and white.

The Programs that I've used was Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop

I only had 2 critiques for my project, and they mentioned how the AK-47 and the rose was in unity, and it looked like it was shooting out a rose from the barrel of the gun.

Project Reflection:

Why did I do this...

I did this because I thought of a gun, which has a history of violence, and a rose that has a history of romance and peace, and put them together to create something cool.

This experience was really good, I loved the freedom that we were given towards the project. Many people took different paths on their art projects.

I just plan to further strengthen my skills in logo design because I felt like I could do better. Because now that I look at my project, I wish i had done more, I wish I had added some text, because it looks quite odd without letters. It looks alone and bland. I wish to learn more about color unity and design. To further strengthen my knowledge of making logos.

Letter

Portrait

This is my letter portrait. I made it out of shapes that I made with little sticks and some are just found around the school. I chose the black and white theme because sometimes I can be a person without color--personality-wise. But I could refine this a lot better. Because at the times where I look at it. I think to myself. "I can make this better"

Understanding Scale and Proportion

Scale

a graduated range of values forming a standard system for measuring or grading something.

Proportion

Proportion is a part, share, or number considered in comparative relation to a whole.

Characteristics of Foreground Middleground Background

Foreground, Middleground, and Background. The foreground, middleground, and background in a composition are generally divided into three planes. The foreground of a composition is the visual plane that appears closest to the viewer, while the background is the plane in a composition percieved furthest from the viewer.

Tools you found most helpful in photoshop.

The most helpful tools for this project was the bush tool, eraser tool, Lasso tool, Quick selection tool plus the masking tool also.

Zipped Files vs. Extracted Files

Zipped (compressed) files take up less storage space and can be transferred to other computers more quickly than uncompressed files. In Windows, you work with zipped files and folders in the same way that you work with uncompressed files and folders.

Photoshop Tutorials

So what I did for this photoshop(I only did one) was change the color of this lady's hair. From white to baby blue. I did a really simple one because I like simplicity. I don't like complicated things, complicated things can overwhelm me. I love to photoshop. But when I see something that means to me, I usually take a long time to perfect it. (I.e Foreground Middleground and Background.)

Art History: Art History as communication

Do you feel you met or approached the project rationale?

I don’t really know if I’ve met the Project rationale because sometimes I don’t see why art exists. But Now that I’ve seen how they tell stories. I think I have now met the rationale, because I see how others can tell stories by just drawing a horse with a man on it, or a person trying to hunt a wolf.

What’s Considered Art?

In my opinion, Art basically you expressing yourself in a creative way. If you want to express yourself as feeling like a mountain, you can draw a mountain. You can create anything, and that is considered art. It could be a scribble you can call that art.

How does context affect works of art?

Context affects art because If you made something and there is no context, there is a lot of confusion to your piece of art. People have to explain on what they’ve made, so others can understand how they felt, what they were thinking, etc.

Why would context matter when interpreting art?

So others don’t have to be confused when it comes to art. So people understand how they felt and what they were thinking. Context also helps people understand what the art is expressing.
