The Work of Adolescence

ec91cb5b-db5d-4c32-a02c-88a338887417.png

This project is essentially about how adolescence affects the teenage body and mind. We were told to make infographics about certain features in the brain for our first set of infographics. Our task was to examine, interpret and draw conclusions from the current data on the biological state of teenagers and to communicate your findings with an infographic.

The Biggest challenge for me in this project was finding the information needed to make my infographic. I was struggling to find a good topic to go off of, because all the studies that I thought were interesting had been formally studied in the early 2000s or late 1900s like 1999.

My biggest success in this project was the organization of my infographics. I like to make sure that my infographics are visually appealing and are easy to read. Because I would make it hard for the reader to navigate through the infographic and get the information needed about the topic.

I would choose a different topic that I know more information in and choose a topic with more sources to go off of. Because I only went off one source which was the CDC about the teen pregnancy rates. I feel like I need to put more effort into finding more in-depth information.

What is climate change and how is it different from global warming

Climate change is a long term change in average weather patterns that have come to the earth's local, regional and global climates. Global warming is the long-term heating of Earth’s climate due to human activities, primarily fossil fuel burning, which increases the  greenhouse gas levels in Earth’s atmosphere.

Why should we care about climate change, now, when it's been happening naturally since the Earth began

We should be worrying about climate change because humans have sped up the process of global warming and climate change. By burning fossil fuels and daily activities that humans do, we release the greenhouse gasses through those activities. Thus making the earth warmer and speeding the process of regional climates changing.

How does your project demonstrate your understanding of climate change

My understanding in climate change is that it is the rapid change in a regional climate. Climate change is normal for the earth, but the reason  why climate change is such a worry right now. The reason why it’s such a worry is because humans are speeding up the natural process of climate change. By burning immense amounts of fossil fuels, and putting tons and tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

What was your largest area of growth during this project

My largest area of growth during this project would have to be the motivation to do a lot of the things that we had to do. I didn't feel motivated at first when we started this project because It just felt like I wasn't learning anything, but as the project progressed, I actually saw that I was learning things and made me realize that this is a real thing and that we need to find solutions to actually try and slow the process.

What was your greatest strength during this project

My Greatest strength was communication during this project because I always checked with flynns about how we can get this done or what other solutions are there, or what new design are we going to think of next. Communication was really key on this project since me and flynns project was so massive that we had to postpone the creation.
